Pastor Rick & Denise Nylund
Rick and Denise both grew up right here in Walnut Creek and met shortly after college. Rick went to high school at De La Salle and Denise went to Las Lomas. Rick is an Oregon State University alum where he graduated in Construction Engineering Management and Denise graduated from Cal Poly SLO in Graphic Arts. After being encouraged to explore a calling to pastoral ministry, Rick began studies at Fuller Theological Seminary where he received the Master of Divinity degree. He has served as an ordained pastor since 2003. Rick has a passion for bringing God’s Word to life in creative ways to make it easy to apply to everyday life.
Denise began our Neighborhood Kids ministry making it full of fun and creativity through her desire to help children experience God’s love for them. She also leads our Midweek Women’s Ministry which meets on Wednesday mornings.
Rick and Denise live in Pleasant Hill where they are raising three wonderful daughters: Zoey, Lily, and Eva. They have a deep love for their community and have devoted their lives to help people connect to God and each other through sharing their spiritual journeys.
